Our Spa Sugar Scrub is one of our personal favourite products here at Saltspring Soapworks Lo-Jo. Not only is it simple (raw sugar grain, sweet orange, grapefruit, lemon and lime essential oils – and that’s IT), but it’s versatile and the perfect way to pamper your skin!
The sugar scrub works great as a simple hand scrub for dry, hard-working hands or as a full body scrub. The citrus oils are so energizing and rejuvenating, and leave skin glowing. You can even use it to shave your legs! Simply scrub, rinse, and use the oil left behind as the perfect lubricant for your razor.
Some customers even tell us they use it as a face scrub!
Unlike a salt scrub, the sugar grain is much larger and therefore has a more gentle, massaging exfoliation than the coarser salt grain. Sugar also won’t sting any cuts!

Rosemary Mint Handwash

Our ever-popular rosemary mint handwash is perfect for the upcoming cold season! It is all natural, moisturizing and smells amazing!
The best part is that our handwash works just as well as antibacterial handwashes, but without the chemicals. Peppermint and rosemary essential oils are naturally anti-bacterial, so they kill germs equally as effectively as antibacterial soaps. They’re also made locally!
Our handwash is so gentle that it can also be used as a body wash and even a face wash.

Shampoo Bars have Arrived!

The much anticipated shampoo bars have finally arrived in-store! The big question has been: How are the Shampoo Bars different from regular soap? Good question!
Like our regular soap, the shampoo bars do contain olive and coconut oil. However, these bars are specially formulated to benefit hair and scalp. They also contain castor oil (from the castor bean), and that’s the big difference: the castor oil makes the soap foam more than our regular soaps, giving your hair and scalp a complete clean. As always, our shampoo bars are 100% natural, completely free of any detergents and preservatives, and they are 100% bio-degradable!
We offer three different types of shampoo bars, and they are all fantastic!
Jojoba Shampoo Bar: This shampoo bar is fragrance free! No essential oils have been added to fragrance this bar, making it great for those with sensitive noses! This bar contains jojoba oil, so it’s extra moisturizing! Jojoba oil has amazing benefits for hair, skin and scalp – it is moisturizing without clogging pores (non-comedogenic), and is a very light oil so it won’t weigh your hair down, nor strip all the moisture out of your hair like some commercial brands tend to do! We recommend this bar to anyone with a dry or sensitive scalp!
Rosemary and Mint Shampoo Bar: This bar is our most stimulating and invigorating shampoo bar! The rosemary and mint essential oils help promote hair growth, and since rosemary is naturally astringent, this bar is very good for oiler hair! This is fast becoming our most favoured bar – especially by those who already love our rosemary mint line!
Calendula & Chamomile Bar: This bar is our most soothing and healing. Both calendula and chamomile are renowned for their healing properties, and are natural anti-irritants. Lemon oil is also present in this bar, giving it a lovely, light scent! This is a great bar for all hair types!
All our shampoo bars are long-lasting, and can be used all over the body if desired – yes, even the face! This makes our shampoo bars great for camping, boating or traveling!
